Bittersweet Day

The show goes on.

Lupe said it,

Made me believe it.

Because I can’t change the fate,

Of the young girl.

Who carries another life inside of her,

But still sits on her own mother’s lap.

A child,

Soon to have one of her own.

This is too much for me,

I’m unable to swallow this truth.

And it kills me,

Every time I look her way.

But today is her day,

This day,

14 years ago she was born.

For that,

Sadness embodies me.

But

The show must go on.
